Cadillac Ranch or Bust

Subtitled 'views from a moving camera', this project features a series of landscapes collected from the southern/south western USA, in 1989. In its original form selected photographs were grouped to create visual associations through iconography, recurrent motifs and glancing references to cinema, specifically the genre of the 'road movie'. Sequences were arranged to suggest narratives, induce an impression of cinematic progression, and evoke notions of the 'American Dream' within the landscape. 'Cadillac Ranch or Bust' was exhibited at Brewhouse Arts, Somerset, in 1995.
